Summary


The Macular/Diabetic/Medical Retina Department based at the Manchester Royal Eye Hospital are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic clinic coordinator to provide and administrative/Reception support to a busy department. Working as part of a friendly admin team you will have excellent communication skills and be able to work calmly under pressure using your own initiative, with an ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines.

We would expect the candidate to be a good team player with a flexible approach to work, providing assistance to your colleagues and cover for sickness and annual leave, helping to ensure an effective administrative service at all times.

Duties will include;

- Facilitating appointment bookings for patients to support the patient journey using our services.

- Focused patient contact by phone to support attendance at clinic and be point of contact for patient queries.

- General admin support

You should have good IT skills, be an excellent communicator and be able to prioritise your own workload. You should also enjoy working with people to provide a first class service.

You will ideally have administration experience, good communication and organisational skills. You must be able to use your own initiative, be flexible and work independently.

Essentially, we are looking for a good standard of general education along with previous experience of dealing with patients or customers, and a good level of computer literacy.

You will be responsible for co-ordination and cancellation of clinics, including the booking, cancelling(and rebooking) of new and follow up appointments, undertake validation work, Provide a telephone service, answering and recording incoming calls, relaying queries and messages as necessary, whilst liaising with other departments.

Contribute to best practice and assist in developing working practice in the team to deliver efficient and effective services, ensuring Trust priorities including 18 week pathway
