The SMB Group is a highly successful FE college, formed through the merger of Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College. We are an innovative and highly responsive centre for education and training with campuses in Coalville, Melton Mowbray and Brooksby.

We are looking for an Engineer with knowledge, skills and experience in the engineering sector, with the ability to support our staff and students in the provision in a workshop environment. The opportunity also enables positive opportunities to support the next generation of engineering students whilst being a key figure in developing our provision along with staff.

We would also like to invite interested parties with skills and knowledge of the sector who want to make a difference. You may currently be working in an engineering environment or been on the front line of various areas in the sector such as manufacturing, machining, design, welding etc. looking for a change of direction. You will need a passion for innovation, confident in bringing new ideas to the SMB group and the enthusiasm in embedding new technologies into the learning environment.

Working as part of the engineering team you will be responsible for running the workshops, ordering stock and supporting teaching and learning with a lecturer. You will possess an excellent knowledge for the sector with experience to support the needs of the section and a desire to influence our new and upskilling engineering students.

As well as your relevant experience and current knowledge, you will also be willing to obtain a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.
