An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with a passion for Oncology and Haematology to join our rotation. Our cancer services based at Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospitals offers a unique opportunity to work in a leading specialist cancer centre. We offer the most up-to-date chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, which leads to one of the best survival rates in the country. In this specialist role, upon completion of a development programme, you will be a senior Occupational Therapist providing high quality therapy, to inpatients with oncology and haematology conditions.

This role provides an exciting opportunity to progress and expand your skills. The role begins on a band 6 contract where you will learn the necessary skills to assess, manage and treat oncology and haematology patients at various points within their cancer journey.

We are looking for a dynamic, forward thinking and passionate therapist who is motivated towards developing excellent leadership, communication skills and advanced clinical skills. You will possess the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.

Upon completion of a 6-12 month development programme, the successful candidate will transition to a band 7 therapist. As well as supervision and team leadership responsibilities, you will also be directly involved in service development and promoting evidence based practice. You will be supported by the Clinical Lead throughout the programme.



This development opportunity will include an individualised competency framework supporting the successful applicant to ensure they have the necessary skills and experience to undertake the role of a Highly Specialist Occupational Therapist.

The development programme will include:
• Designated senior supervisor for the duration of the programme
• Relevant additional training courses as per development need
• Progression to Band 7 upon completion of competencies within 6-12 months.
