We have an opportunity for a Band 7 SLT to work across our Mainstream Schools and Community & Clinics Teams. This is ideal for someone wishing to develop their specialty as a Band 7 as well as take on a leadership role within the team. The successful applicant will be given opportunities to improve their service development skills.

You will have:
• Experience of and highly specialist skills working with a diverse paediatric caseload in mainstream schools and/or in clinics
• Experience of supporting the evaluation of service delivery in mainstream schools and/or clinics
• Experience in developing and delivering universal and / or targeted level offers to schools
• Experience in working with parents to deliver high quality therapy
• Experience in training parents and / or education staff in supporting children's communication skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-agency team
• Ability to work flexibly and independently where necessary
• Enthusiasm, imagination and initiative
• Understanding of the neurodiversity framework
• To contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of service delivery
• To demonstrate highly specialist clinical skills in an area relevant to therapy in mainstream schools and clinics
• To lead/supervise others within your chosen area of specialism
• To be responsible for the management of a caseload of children with developmental speech and language delays/disorders and social communication differences in mainstream schools
• To be responsible for the management of a caseload of pre-school children in clinic with a range of speech, language and communication needs
• To provide line management to junior staff and SLTAs.
• To work with parents, carers, school staff and other agencies involved in the children’s care as well as part of a multi-agency team.
• To work as a member of the Speech and Language Therapy Team
• To participate in and provide clinical supervision and support as required
• To act as a resource and support for other therapists working with children with speech, language and social communication difficulties.

The Children’s Therapy team consists of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and speech and language therapists. Therapists work in multi-disciplinary/multi agency teams across the borough of Wandsworth.
