Summary


The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust recognises that system integration plays a crucial role in meeting the Trusts strategic objectives, underpinning the effectiveness and quality of services provided.

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen within the Digital Services Systems Development department for a Senior Systems Integration Specialist. The post holder will design, develop and maintain interfaces using Intersystems Health Connect integration engine. You will have strong technical skills with experience of relational database management, HL7, Webservices/XML. Having skills in AWS and GitLab would also be advantageous. You will not necessarily have worked within the NHS and may have gained experience elsewhere.

An adept facilitator and articulate communicator, you will liaise with suppliers to deliver data integration across the Trust. Working closely with colleagues in Operations, IT and other Trust counterparts, you will be required to investigate underlying data integrity issues limiting Trust operational objectives and have proven problem solving skills that deliver solutions. Alongside these requirements you will advise on strategic technical developments to help support operational and clinical areas and work closely with system administrators to deliver the Trusts IM&T strategy.
• To design, develop, configure and implement complex information system interfaces, to agreed quality standards, using internationally recognised protocols and messaging standards and using the most effective and efficient software tools.
• Project manage the implementation of interface solutions assuring timely completion of technical tasks and delivery of high quality solutions with specified functionality
• Provide ongoing, post-implementation support for interface solutions.
• Advise, direct and provide focus for Project Boards on key elements of interface development and relationships with other internal and external systems integration.
• Responsible for procurement and research into new and emerging technologies which may improve the Trust’s programme of system integration
• Manage the design of individual interface requirements to ensure accurate and complete delivery of system integration. Helping to achieve maximum benefits from investment in new systems.
• Manage the migration of current interfaces to the TIE, so that there is no adverse affect on services, and to ensure that full user acceptance testing is completed prior to the switch over.
• Work with Project Managers to establish realistic project plans within a formal methodology based on PRINCE2. Ensure that interface specifications include clear definitions for each project, including deliverables and success criteria.



The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services.
