Summary

We are seeking to recruit a highly specialist clinical or counselling psychologist, or senior CBT therapist to a three day a week, temporary post. The successful candidate will join the Bromley Community Mental Health Rehabilitation and Enablement Service (CMHRES), and will be offering highly specialised psychological assessment and intervention to service users referred to Bromley CMHRES, consistent with NICE approved treatments.

Bromley CMHRES is a specialist team, based at Beckenham Beacon, serving people diagnosed with severe mental health difficulties across the borough of Bromley. It consists of a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including a consultant psychiatrist, specialist adult mental health nurses, support workers and occupational therapists.

Oxleas has a strong tradition of promoting psychological therapies and embraces multi-modal formulation-based approaches. Personal therapeutic interests and specialty development are actively encouraged and supported. This can be via formal training as well as established specialist supervision forums which are provided across the Trust.

There may be the opportunity to work on specialist competencies in evidence-based models eg CBT, EMDR, third wave CBT etc.

CMHRES is a small, close-knit, friendly team that provides intensive community rehabilitation programmes to clients with a wide spectrum of severe mental health difficulties. The post holder will be responsible for providing psychological interventions to service users, in conjunction with the other professionals within the team, as a key aspect of their community rehabilitation programme.

There will also be the opportunity to support and develop psychological thinking and psychologically informed interventions within the team.

You will have access to regular individual supervision and the support of a number of other psychologists and psychological therapists working in our shared office at Beckenham Beacon.

Oxleas offers a wide range of NHS healthcare services to people in community and secure environment settings. Our services include community health care such as district nursing and speech and language therapy, care for people with learning disabilities and mental health care such as psychiatry, nursing and therapies. Our multidisciplinary teams look after people of all ages and we work in close partnership with other parts of the NHS, local councils and the voluntary sector and through our new provider collaboratives. Our 4,300 members of staff work in many different settings including hospitals, clinics, prisons, secure hospitals, children’s centres, schools and people’s homes.
