General Medicine – Junior Clinical Fellow

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Fellow in the specialty General Medicine for 12 months.

There are opportunities to cover our additional pressure medical wards. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside proactive MDT teams with daily consultant input to facilitate excellent care and safe discharges. There are opportunities for teaching, audit and research. The Division is fully committed to the continuing development, education and training of its staff. Applicants will be encouraged and expected to fill in the general medicine on call vacancies if any, at reasonable notice.

Applicants should be fully registered practitioners with experience at foundation year level. Applicants should also be able to evidence recent and relevant experience of working in the NHS; a substantial period of which should be within general medicine.

The successful applicant will work on a general medical ward seeing both acute admissions and long stay patients under the supervision of a named consultant and with a team of allied health professionals.

Please note that Clinical Fellows are paid on a local pay scale that mirrors Doctors in Training pay scales. Basic salary offered for this role is fixed at £43,923 and will not be uplifted beyond that salary point. Where the role requires out of hours working, evening, weekend and on call enhancements will be added according to a work schedule. It is Trust practice that we offer a set salary for this role and variations will not be considered.
