Role Summary:

As an Engineer specialising in Highways & Civils, you will play a vital role in proposing solutions, preparing designs, and managing construction projects to ensure completion within budget and schedule. You will also liaise with various professionals and stakeholders, ensuring compliance with relevant specifications and standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Propose solutions and prepare designs for highway schemes from inception to detailed design.
  • Prepare contract documents and provide technical support throughout the construction period.
  • Plan and program activities and resources for small or non-complex schemes, ensuring completion to program.
  • Prepare estimates and monitor project costs to ensure completion within agreed budgets.
  • Liaise and negotiate with developers, consultants, planners, and solicitors regarding agreement submissions.
  • Design check detailed agreement submissions for compliance with policies, standards, and specifications.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • RQF Level 4-6 in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in the design and construction of highway, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of relevant specifications, policies, and procedures.
  • Competent user of CAD software (e.g., Civil 3D, MX, Auto CAD)
  • Experience of using Lighting Reality
  • Experience of using Amtech Pro Design 4
  • G39/1 Code of practice training has been undertaken and is up to date
  • Full drivers licence
  • Professional status is Associate membership of the ILP, and a minimum of IEng for checking and approval of lighting designs undertaken by other Street Lighting Senior Engineers, Engineers and Technicians
