Summary

Reach Dorset are recruiting for a Lead Employment Specialist to join them on a Full time basis.

The Reach Individual Placement and Support team aims to increase the number of people moving into employment from the specialist drug and alcohol services. The team will deliver supported employment to people in community treatment for substance use, using the Individual Placement and Support approach (IPS). The aim is to help people into paid work in a way that respects their preferences and choices.

The team will offer a bespoke employment service to the individual accessing recovery at Reach which includes, career coaching, CV writing, interview techniques, making links with local and national employers, attending job fairs, working across different sites and some community working. To help and support the individual to quickly gain employment as part of their recovery journey.

The successful candidate would be expected to travel across our three main sites in Dorset (Weymouth, Gillingham and Wimborne) according to the requirements of the role. The role can be based from any of the three sites, which ever is closest to the successful candidate.

Please note due to the location and nature of the role a full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is required, millage is paid for!

Your responsibilities will include:
Providing exceptional support to people with Substance issues into suitable and sustainable employment.
Assertively engaging with people from referral, into work and beyond for sustainment, offering comprehensive support in skills identification and practical guidance.
Playing a crucial role in supporting sustained success for people and employers, post-employment.
Establishing relationships with key stakeholders in Substance misuse service, with employers and skills providers for effective referrals and successful outcomes whilst supporting senior managers to compile monthly and quarterly data for reporting submissions.
Ensuring accurate data collection, recording and maintenance of an up-to-date case management system.
Managing staff and support the induction process as and when required and attending regular meetings with wider teams.
The person:
You will have experience / knowledge of the substance misuse sector.
Ideally have experience within an employment-based role, e.g. IPS, Recruitment etc.
Excellent people skills.
Confident speaking to stakeholder's and service users
Experience managing a team.
Strong record and good understanding of the issues involved in delivering effective support services to a range of vulnerable people.
An understanding of a range of approaches to key working and case working with service users and the implementation of different agendas, such as personalisation.
An understanding of the complex issues contributing to substance use issues and the impact on the person and the wider community.
Knowledge, understanding or experience of supporting and supervising casework.
