Summary

Reach Dorset is an integrated drug and alcohol recovery service which provides advice, support and structured treatment for individuals around drug and alcohol related issues.

About the role…
We are currently looking for an Individual Placement Support (IPS) Employment Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis.

The Reach IPS team aims to increase the number of people moving into employment from the specialist drug and alcohol services.
The role will deliver supported employment to people in community treatment for substance use, using the Individual Placement and Support approach (IPS). The aim is to help people into paid work in a way that respects their preferences and choices.

An Employment Specialist offers a bespoke employment service to the individual accessing recovery at Reach which includes, career coaching, CV writing, interview techniques, making links with local and national employers, attending job fairs, working across different sites and some community working. To help and support the individual to quickly gain employment as part of their recovery journey.

This is a very interesting, varied and rewarding role. The successful candidate would be expected to travel across our three main sites in Dorset (Weymouth, Gillingham and Wimborne) according to the requirements of the role.

An Employment Specialist needs to be positive, flexible, empathetic, proactive and will be enthusiastic towards challenges and be able to motivate others. Any knowledge of drugs, alcohol, working with ex-offenders, the benefits system or disadvantaged people would be an advantage.

About you
We do not expect you to know everything about IPS as training and support will be given.
We would like you to have experience talking to employers and helping people into work.
We want great communication skills and the ability to build relationships with everyone from the frontline up to CEO level.
Proven ability to build rapport with people and especially understanding issues for people affected by substance misuse or similar conditions.
Boundless enthusiasm, excellent teamwork and the ability to work in a target driven environment.
Strong written skills/verbal/ organisational skills.
Due to the nature of the role, you will be required to have a full UK Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle, Mileage is paid!
