Summary

Here at the Richmond Fellowship Scotland we are currently looking to recruit a Senior Support Worker for our Todhill services in Stevenston, where we support individuals with a variety of different needs such as ongoing Mental Health issues, Autism, Learning Disabilities and Dementia.

This campus has recently undergone a multi-million pound development to provide 21 brand new homes for the people we support and these houses have been designed to respond to the needs and preferences of the people who will live in them as well as to fit in with the surrounding natural environment. With this development we feel that we have unlocked the full potential of Todhill`s beautiful 105 acre rural site which includes a Day Centre Service offering a range of vocational and fun activities including horticulture, arts and crafts and animal husbandry.

You will be part of a committed team, supporting individuals with Autism and associated complex learning disabilities.

Please note that due to service requirements we can only accept applications from candidates who have a valid UK driving licence and access to their own cars.

Our Senior Support Workers are classed as Front Line Management staff and as such your duties would fall under two specific areas as follows:

Staff Management:

-Coaching and mentoring front line staff while providing appropriate support including regular supervision.
-Identifying the training needs of your team and ensuring that this training is provided.
-Producing the monthly rota for your team, taking into account budgetary requirements and ensuring that all staff meet their contracted hours whilst managing holiday cover and absence.
-Developing the ability of your team to produce accurate and effective support plans.
-Covering on-call shift work as and when needed.

Supported Individuals:

-Plan and facilitate meetings with individuals and important people in their lives in order to collate the appropriate information required to write an effective support plan.
-Effectively match supported individuals to staff members, keeping in mind the identified outcomes and goals to be achieved for said supported individual.

For this fantastic opportunity you will need at least 2 years previous experience of supporting individuals within care and already have or be willing to work towards your SVQ Level 3.

The successful applicant must also register with SSSC as a Supervisor in Care at Home and Housing Support Services on taking up the post.

PVG checks will be required of all successful applicants; having a conviction will not necessarily debar you from working in this sector.

We encourage applications from diverse backgrounds and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications irrespective of race, ethnicity or national origin, religion, gender, disability, age, marital, parental status or sexual orientation. Our mission is to welcome everyone and create inclusive teams. We celebrate difference and encourage everyone to join us
