An exciting opportunity has arisen with Infectious and Tropical unit at the Liverpool University Hospital, part of Liverpool Foundation Trust.

This is an acute medical ward caring for 19 patients with numerous infections and conditions.

We are looking for a motivated Healthcare assistant to help us in delivering high standards of care. In this role you can look forward to a career full of development opportunities and the support from an excellent team if healthcare professionals working alongside a small and friendly team

Ward 8A is a acute 19 bedded isolation unit caring for patients with Infectious and Tropical Diseases, such as TB, malaria, meningitis, and HIV.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, hardworking and caring individual to join out team. We strive to deliver excellent, safe and effective care. We work closely as a team to ensure that our aims and objectives are achieved and our patients have the best possible outcomes. You will be primarily assisting the nursing team with care of patients and will facilitate the smooth running of the ward. you need to be driven and prepared to deliver high quality care and attention to detail at all times.

Support all individuals through effective communication
General bed making/making up of clean beds in readiness for new
admissions, and operation beds. (Refer to policy for the care of
mattresses and beds).
Clear and clean vacated bed spaces and prepare ready for use
according to the ward/unit protocol.
Prepare used linen bags for collection by Porters and ensure adequate
supply of linen bags/skips ready for use.
Assist in maintaining a clean and safe environment in all areas.
Collection of Blood products as required from laboratory
Safe disposal of clinical waste and sharps as per Trust policy
Be familiar with Trust policy and procedure for reporting clinical
incidents, reporting of incidents if they occur.
Provide support and assistance to new and junior members of staff.
Supports members of the nursing team in the management of abusive
and aggressive behaviour with supervision
Contribute to the Health, Safety and Security of individuals
