An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and proactive band 8a senior cancer pharmacist with previous cancer services experience to work as part of the Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC) clinical pharmacy team. The post holder will lead and develop the clinical pharmacy service to cancer patients treated with immunotherapy, working to optimise treatment pathways and outcomes and work with the wider immunotherapy team to pro-actively and effectively manage toxicities.
The successful candidate will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills, as well as innovative ideas on improving service delivery and patient care.
• Lead the clinical pharmacy service in the management of cancer patients treated with immunotherapy, both in terms of optimising treatment pathways and outcomes and managing toxicities.
• Provide a ward based clinical pharmacy service to oncology patients on the adult and TYA inpatient wards.
• Provide specialist evidence-based advice on the safe and effective use of immune checkpoint inhibitors and other SACT treatments
• Practice as an independent prescriber within a multi-disciplinary team, optimising patient outcomes and improving the patient experience.
• Mentoring, supervision and training of pharmacy staff and other healthcare professionals.
