Summary


An opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, motivated Nursing Assistant to join our Out Patient Gynaecology Nursing Team.

The post is available for a 26 hours a week permanent you will be based at Wansbeck General Hospital but will be required to cover at other base sites and Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital on a regular basis.

The successful candidate will work as part of the Nursing Healthcare Team to deliver out patient services to a wide range of specialities.

You should have excellent communication skills when dealing with patients and colleagues to ensure quality care is provided to patients in a timely fashion.

We manage three major locality hospitals at North Tyneside, Wansbeck and Hexham, plus a number of smaller community hospitals and clinics from Tynemouth to Berwick on Tweed, in addition to our state-of-the-art Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital, the first of its kind in England. We also care for people in their homes and provide services from facilities in local communities such as health centres. We give people greater choice and control over their care to help them to live independently at home and avoid hospital admission where appropriate.High quality patient care is at the heart of everything we do and we strive to ensure every single patient and service user has an exceptional experience with us. We have one of the most extensive patient experience programmes of any trust in England.

To assist the clinicians in the deliver of clinics. To chaperone and assist patients before, during and after appointments. To competently prepare clinics prior to delivery, to assist during delivery and clear post deliver.

To follow the trust policies and protocols, maintaining own mandatory training

To assist the qualified nursing staff in the delivery of high quality direct and indirect patient care
To provide assistance and support to patients, carers and the multi-disciplinary team
To maintain high clinical standards
To help maintain a clean and safe ward environment

To work under the supervision of a qualified nurse and assist in the implementation of patient care both direct and non direct
