Purovets are looking for a veterinary surgeon with a strong general practice skill set to join the friendly team at a two-branch small animal practice in Derbyshire. They have established themselves amongst the local community, and now provide care to thousands of pets every year. The team pride themselves in providing a high standard of first opinion care. They have a fantastic team of 8 vets, supported by brilliant RVNs, SVNs, ACAs and front of house team members. They are well equipped with sterile and non-sterile operating theatres, x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound and endoscopy facilities. Their separate dog and cat kennel areas are supervised by their qualified nurses who ensure the comfort and wellbeing of all hospitalised animals. There is an isolation unit set apart from the kennel areas.

You will work a 40 hour week, ideally over 4 days with 10-hour day shifts - 09:00 - 19:00. This is flexible for the right candidate. Weekends will be worked 1 full weekend in 7 (Saturday 09:00-17:00 Sunday 10:00-16:00) and 1 Saturday morning in 7 (09:00-12:00). You will have variable days off, and there are no OOHs.
There is also potential for sole charge. Ideally this will be a full-time role, but part-time hours will be considered for the right candidate.

You will be working in Derby, a vibrant city which boasts a rich tapestry of heritage, innovation, and modern charm. Beyond the city, Derbyshire's landscape captivates with its rolling hills, limestone dales, and the rugged Peak District National Park. Road networks, including major motorways like the M1 and M42, intersect near Derby, facilitating easy access to the wider area. Rail travel is integral with Derby station is a key stop on major rail routes, offering direct connections to London, Birmingham, Manchester, and beyond.

Role:

- Salary up to £60,000 DOE
- 4 days, 9am - 7pm
- 1 in 7 full weekends, Saturdays 9am - 5pm, Sundays 10am - 4pm
- 1 in 7 Saturday mornings, 9am - 12pm
- No OOHs
