Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a B6 midwife to join the new elective caesarean team at Queen Charlotte’s Hospital in their maternity theatre. The job is on Monday to Friday basis to cover the elective list

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate midwife to join our team and provide specialised care to women/birthing people undergoing elective caesarean sections. The candidate will have a strong background in obstetrics and midwifery, with a focus on supporting women/birthing people throughout the entire birthing process.

As a midwife for elective caesarean cases, you will play a crucial role in advocating for women/birthing people, providing emotional support, and ensuring the safety and well-being of both the mother/birthing person and newborn during the surgical birth experience.

The role will incorporate working collaboratively with the theatre and recovery nurses to maintain safety within the theatre and recovery environment and support with neonatal care

The job will entail preparing women/birthing people for theatre, accompanying and supporting them providing a holistic approach to their care. There will be an element of post-operative care to this role.
• Participate in the provision of effective individualised, women/birthing people-centered, evidence-based midwifery care within the maternity theatre/recovery
• Maintain own professional practice and that of others in line with Nursing and Midwifery Council guidance and statutory Midwives Rules and Standards
• Skilled in recognising and caring for the deteriorating patient
• Maintain own professional development and a high standard of clinical care within the maternity service
• Work in partnership with women and their families, GP, obstetrician and other agencies to ensure optimum care
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate the care of mothers/birthing people and babies in accordance with the Trust’s policies and guidelines
