Summary
Ensuring that the physical health and mental health needs of children and young people admitted to the paediatric ward are being met in order to reduce the crisis presentation and facilitate timely discharge to community services or support and care for children and young people while they wait for a T4 adolescent admission or appropriate social care placement. The team will consist of a Band 7 Lead Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Band 6 Nurses, and Band 3 Support Workers as part of this dedicated service. You will be expected to work on a rota basis, covering days, weekends, and bank holidays. Working closely with the EWMH Lead Nurse, you will support the children and young people presenting with mental health needs, disordered eating, neurodevelopmental, and emotional health issues and provide timely interventions that contribute to their care. You will also be working alongside acute care paediatric colleagues on the ward and the support workers.
