We have 2 children aged 11 and 14. Our eldest has autistic spectrum disorder. The main purpose of this job is to work alongside us caring for and supporting our eldest son whilst outside of the home. You may also need to, separately, supervise and support our younger son while we are helping our older son.

Our son is a happy, affectionate boy who is verbal but struggles to understand social norms and rules of conversation. He also has a stammer and needs to be given time and space to get his view across.

Term time activities are currently (but subject to change if interests change):

Tuesday 17:30-22:00; Gaming social and supporting at home

Friday 2.5 hours between 16:00 – 23:00 changing to activity

Saturday Working 1 out of 3 13:00-16:30 afternoon (art garden) or occasionally on a morning to a national trust property

During school holidays

20 hours

Thursday 09:00-14:00

Friday 09:00-14:00

Saturday Working 1 out of 3 09:00-14:00.

These duties will be similar to term time.

Flexibility is required as start and end times may change slightly.

Ewan dislikes public transport which is to be avoided along with busy city and town centres therefore a car driver is required.

We have a car, and we are prepared to add the PA to our insurance to enable them to use it if they do not own their own vehicle.

This post is subject to DBS check and references.
