Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen in the St. Helens Podiatry Service to work as a Podiatrist with a degree of autonomous decision making across a multidisciplinary setting.



The role will include assessing and diagnosing foot health issues as well as developing and implementing individual care programmes for new and existing patients with a wide variety of clinical needs. These include, long term conditions, vascular problems, neurological conditions, wound management, sharp debridement, gait analysis/manufacture of orthoses and nail surgery.


The post holder will be expected to plan, prioritise and manage a podiatry caseload within clinics, care homes and the domiciliary setting, including maintaining adequate levels of stock at clinical sites.
The post holder will demonstrate own activities and supervise less experienced staff and students, providing training as required.

1.Work with individuals, families, carers, communities, Primary Healthcare Teams and other agencies to undertake a comprehensive assessment of
patients/service users in order to inform a personalised plan of care /
intervention.
2. Formulate and deliver an individual treatment programme using holistic
assessment, reasoning and treatment skills based on a sound knowledge of
evidence based practice and a range of treatment options.
3. Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programmes using an accepted/ appropriate range of techniques as required and utilising regular support and advice from senior clinicians.
4. To demonstrate the promotion of healthy lifestyle practices to the general public by the utilisation of teaching skills.
5. Prioritise health problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex, urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergency care.
6. To be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients / service users in your care.
7. To be responsible for a designated area of work, as directed by a senior clinician.
8. Plan and organise efficiently and effectively own clinical caseload.
9. To undertake self-directed / lone working in a variety of locations.
