Summary

A full time vacancy with an immediate start has arisen for a permanent Crown Servant position (Grade D) in the role of the Employer Engagement Executive Officer, based at the Reserve Forces & Cadets Association for East Anglia based at 250 Springfield Road, Chelmsford Essex CM2 6BU.

The Employer Engagement Executive Officer will report to the Regional Employer Engagement Director and will be responsible for assisting the Regional delivery of Employer Engagement (EE) and development of effective working relationships with employers and the business community. Essential to the success, the post holder will be required to forge strong relationships and work collaboratively and effectively with employers, key stakeholders and partner organisations.

The successful applicant will have experience of the commercial environment and of event management and planning, excellent communication, interpersonal and presentational skills, and strong IT skills.

The successful applicant will be required to travel throughout the East Anglia RFCA area of responsibility with occasional train travel to other RFCA regions. Applicants must have a valid driving licence in order to self–drive.

The salary for the appointment at commencement is £28,300 (Crown Servant Grade D full-time post). The post holder will be required to work a 37 hour week, Monday to Thursday hours are 0800hrs to 1630hrs and Friday hours are 0800hrs to 1600hrs (excluding lunchbreaks).

The role will require the successful candidate to occasionally work outside core working hours and also, the occasional weekends/Public Holiday as directed/agreed by the Line Manager. TOIL will be accrued.

The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Council of RFCA Pension Scheme which operates a Career Average Revalued Earnings Scheme (CARE).

The successful candidate will be entitled to 25 days’ annual leave (excluding Public Holidays) which increases to 30 days with 5 years’ service. Prior employment with the Armed Forces or another Government Department will count towards qualifying years’ service for leave purposes.

The offer of employment will be conditional to the following:
• Confirmation of the right to work in the UK
• Satisfactory references
• Successful completion of the Baseline Personal Security Standards check and an Enhanced Disclosure check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)

The successful candidate will be required to serve a probationary period of one year and final confirmation of the appointment is dependent upon the satisfactory completion of this probationary period.

East Anglia Reserve Forces and Cadets Association (RFCA) is an arms-length public body of the Ministry of Defence, mandated to give advice to the Defence Council, manage the Reserve Forces’ and Cadets’ estate, deliver community and employer engagement for Defence, and provide administration services to the Army Cadet Force.
