Scale SO1: £32,076 - £33,945 per annum

We are looking for a Team Leader who shares our passion, enthusiasm and commitment to enhancing the lives of vulnerable residents here in Blackpool.

As Care & Repair Team Leader, you will be responsible for the day to day operations ensuring high quality, effective and efficient service delivery. You will ensure adequate staff cover at all times, provide appropriate support, guidance, coaching, advice and instruction to the team as necessary and assist in the recruitment, induction, training and development of staff.

In addition, you will carry out monitoring and quality checks of the service to ensure compliance with all policies, procedures and performance indicators. You will liaise and contract manage a range of contractors, contribute to the development and implementation of the Team, Department and Corporate Delivery Plan, assisting the Care & Repair Manager in setting targets, monitoring and reviewing to achieve continuous performance improvement.

The successful candidate will have management/supervisory skills and experience, including setting, planning and monitoring workloads of team members and significant experience of working with vulnerable customers, particularly those with disabilities and/or the elderly. You must be extremely organised, an excellent communicator with a confident manner, possess highly developed problem solving skills and have the ability to deal with a very busy and varied operational service.


You must have a minimum of 3 GCSE’s or equivalent, at Grade C/4 or above to include Maths and English. A supervisory or management qualification would be desirable.
Any offer of appointment will be subject to a satisfactory enhanced clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as a CRB check).

Blackpool Coastal Housing was set up by Blackpool Council in 2007 to manage their housing stock of almost 5,000 properties. Our goal is to create an organisation that delivers quality services, first time, every time, within a culture that puts people at the heart of everything we do.

Our services include an Operations Service providing responsive repairs to our valued tenants, empty homes management and refurbishment/capital works across Blackpool. Supported Housing; including supported living in Sheltered Schemes, Young People’s Resettlement Schemes including Care Leavers and Emergency Housing for those that find themselves homeless. Our Care and Repair Service allows Blackpool residents to remain in their own homes through the Adaptations team providing the necessary aids/adaptations for this to be achieved.
