FULL TIME POSITION
Dedicated Store Operator Required
We currently have a great opportunity to join Craven Grain Storage as a Grain Store Operator. The main purpose of this role is to assist with store operations over the 2024 arable harvest, however the aim is to acquire a long-term employee who will help the business continue to grow.
The ideal candidate will be hard-working, able to adapt and learn various skills for the job, reliable, and keen to become part of an established local agricultural co-operative.
Craven Grain Storage ltd is a 40,000/t farmer-owned cooperative grain store with over 100 farmer members locally.
This is a full-time temporary position, Monday to Friday. The minimum hours are 40 hours per week, however we would ask that a flexible approach be taken towards hours during the peak periods of Harvest. There is the requirement to work overtime and weekends during the peak harvest period of July – September, compensated with overtime pay.
Roles and Responsibilities:
• To assist in the tipping of grain on intake
• To use JCB loader and fork truck in daily harvest work
• To carry out general site duties including maintaining a high standard of cleanliness
• To assist with general maintenance & repairs around site.
Skills and Experience:
• Valid Telehandler & Forklift truck licence
• Ability to work independently
• Preferably have knowledge of Agriculture.
• Would be required to work longer hours in the busy harvest period as & when required
• Aptitude for repairs & maintenance an advantage.
Essential
• Full UK driving license
• Previous experience in industry, preferably agriculture, is helpful
• Ability to work without supervision
• A keen awareness of health & safety requirements
The position is very much a hands-on role and a daily direct involvement with production performance and quality standards.
