Summary

We are a department of 9 theatres in 2 different sites, with two more theatres planning to re-open soon within the hospital complex:
• A standalone Centre of Excellence and now a Nationally Accredited Orthopaedic Centre (BHOC) by NHS England. We currently have four operating theatres and a recovery unit in Gateway Surgical Centre. With the accreditation, we are recognized as a Centre of excellence in Upper Limb, Lower Limb, Trauma and Reconstructive Orthopaedic surgery.
• Maternity Services and Main Theatres in the main hospital building, with five operating theatres and a recovery unit, have come together to provide day surgery cases, emergency procedures and specialist obstetric care
• We seek to recruit a highly motivated, enthusiastic Band 6 Clinical Practice Practitioner passionate about providing top-quality training and development opportunities to our junior staff.
• This job offerwill notprovide sponsorship or work permits for candidates applying from outside of the UK / EU region.

The post holder will assist the Band 7 Practice Development Nurse in delivering effective and efficient education and development strategies for Theatre Department at the Newham Hospital Theatres. The post holder is expected to contribute to, and assist with standard setting, regular auditing, coordinating, and supporting the management and delivery of in- house education programs. This will include teaching and assessments for registered and non- registered colleagues.

The post holder will act as a resource for all staff to maintain clinical practice that is evidence- based and patient-centered.
