This opportunity is in the solution design and development arena for Lead Network Operations Manager who will play a major role with the technical design and development of company’s technical offerings. The role is based at our Leicester office with occasional assignments at client locations.
Job Description (Main Duties and Responsibilities):
Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and servers.
Manage and mentor a team of network engineers and technicians, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
Implement and enforce network security policies, procedures, and best practices.
Lead efforts to diagnose and resolve network-related incidents and outages in a timely manner.
Plan and execute network expansion projects to accommodate increased demand and ensure optimal performance.
Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, diagrams, procedures, and policies.
Generate regular reports on network performance, security incidents, and operational activities for management review.
Evaluate, select, and manage relationships with network equipment vendors, service providers, and contractors.
Negotiate contracts, oversee service level agreements (SLAs), and ensure vendor performance meets expectations.
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience Needed [The candidate must demonstrate these in all stages of assessment]
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience in network administration.
Strong technical knowledge of networking protocols, technologies, and architectures.
Hands-on experience with network security principles, tools, and best practices.
Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNP, CCIE, CISSP) are a plus.
