We are currently seeking a skilled Imaging Lead to oversee our Imaging department and drive excellence in radiological services.

As the Imaging Service Lead, you will be responsible for providing specialist radiographic expertise and overseeing all aspects of Radiology within The Royal Brompton Hospital. This includes X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, CT scanning, and Ultrasound services, along with managing the department’s budgets. You will work closely with the Senior Business Manager to ensure that locally agreed and national quality standards and targets are met.

The Imaging service lead provides specialist radiographic expertise and responsibility for all aspects of Radiology within the Lung Division at The Royal Brompton; this will encompass X-Ray, Fluoroscopy, CT Scanning and Ultrasound and will include responsibility for the X-ray and CT budgets.

To be responsible for all clinical staff within the Radiology Department and for the delivery of high quality, responsive services within Imaging.

Work will be carried out in conjunction with Senior Business Manager and ensure locally agreed and national quality standards and targets are met and reported on nationally within the allocated resources.

Be familiar with the functions and work of other departments within Diagnostic centre to act as a deputy for Senior Business Manager at meetings, producing reports, papers and presentations as required.

To be responsible for radiation protection in the Imaging department and ensure that all imaging services are provided in accordance with national, regional and local policies, and within the constraints of the Ionising radiation (medical exposure) regulations 2017, Ionising radiation regulations 2017 and all other subsequent and relevant legislation.

To lead on Imaging procurement liaising with clinical staff, Finance colleagues and manufacturers to ensure procured equipment represents Value for money whilst meeting clinical need.

In conjunction with the Senior Business Manager of the Diagnostic centre, interpret local and national policies to develop a strategy for the ongoing development of an effective and high-quality Imaging service that aligns with the overarching hospital strategy and national agenda.

Monitor waiting time targets and in conjunction with Senior Business Manager produce strategies to ensure all resources required to meet the targets are provided by the hospital.

To ensure that effective modernisation projects are identified and implemented inside Imaging and work with other managers in the Diagnostic centre to promote modernisation and the adoption of lean principles across all modalities.
