Summary


The Overseas Visitors team are responsible for the processing and implementation of the National Health Service (Charges to Overseas Visitors) Regulations. The Overseas Visitors team are required to maintain a professional approach at all times and are expected to deal effectively with all patients and/or relatives, including those who may be unwell, distressed and/or aggressive. The process of identifying possible chargeable overseas visitors can be complex to resolve and can be challenging.

The role is to provide an efficient and courteous service to patients and visitors, to establish patient eligibility for free NHS treatment. To ensure that Overseas Visitors fees policies and procedures are communicated and applied trust wide in order to deliver an effective identification and timely/accurate billing of Trust income, in strict adherence to the latest Government legislation. To ensure that the recovery of income is applied in a timely manner. To ensure the process of communication between Overseas Visitors and the Trust is carried out in a timely manner and to provide an effective administration processes.

The role is based in the Service Level Agreements, Costing and Overseas Team. We work closely as a team and support each other across the various functions.

Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust provides a range of medical services to approximately 490,000 people living across southwest London and northeast Surrey. In addition, we provide more specialist services, in particular renal and neonatal intensive care, to a wider area, covering parts of Sussex and Hampshire.
