Summary


An opportunity has arisen for a fulltime and part time Band 6 physiotherapist - to work within the Medical team and Elderly care across Epsom and St Helier Hospital Sites.
• To assess and treat their own specialist caseload of; medical, rehabilitation/ surgery/ respiratory inpatients.
• To assess and implement specialist treatment programmes as an autonomous practitioner, maintaining associated clinical records.
• To work closely with MDT in supporting discharge planning
• Assess patient understanding of treatment proposals and gain valid informed consent to treatment.
• To supervise junior members of the team
• To take part in IST
• To be an active part of the MDT
• To participate in weekend working on a rota basis.

• To deputise for B7 duties as required, including supervising junior staff and students
• To manage a clinical caseload
• Evaluate patient progress, reassess and alter treatment programs if required.
• Manage clinical risk within own patient caseload seeking guidance from Team Leader/Therapies Clinical Manager as appropriate.
• Work within Trust and CSP clinical guidelines and to have a good working knowledge of national and local standards. To monitor own and others quality of practice as appropriate.
• Represent the therapy service and/or individual patients at the multi-disciplinary team meetings, to ensure the delivery of a coordinated multi-disciplinary service and integrate physio treatment into the treatment programme. This will include discussion of patient care, patient progress and involvement in discharge planning.
• To carry and prioritise own patient caseload and other ongoing tasks, allocating appropriate work to assistants juniors and students.
