Haven are currently seeking an Accountant to join our Finance Function.

This role plays a crucial role in supporting the Finance Manager - Accounting to maintain accurate financial records, comply with reporting standards, and provide valuable insights into the company's financial performance. This role requires attention to detail, analytical skills, and a strong understanding of accounting principles and reporting requirements.

This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Head Office in Hemel Hempstead, with an expectation of three days per week onsite and the remainder working remotely.

Your Opportunity:
To learn, develop and become an expert in a key area of the business by:

- Supporting the Finance Manager - Accounting to manage the weekly, month-end and year-end financial close processes for Haven.
- Supporting General Managers and Finance Business Partners with timely and accurate information.
- Optimising the functionality of ERPX for more efficient period close and reporting.
- Reviewing and reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring proper documentation and support for all balances, highlighting as required areas of risk and opportunity against budgets and forecasts
- Helping to establish & maintain best practice for P&L and BS accounting throughout the Finance Operations team.
- Conducting variance analysis to identify discrepancies in financial results and assisting in providing explanations and recommendations for improvement

- Strong grasp of GAAP or IFRS
- Understanding of financial impact on strategy
- Experience in Interpreting financial statements
- Experience in reconciling accounts accurately
- Able to collaborate effectively
- Detail-oriented for accuracy
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Excel proficiency for analysis
- Relevant degree or ongoing study
- Keep updated on industry trends
- Experienced in cross-functional teamwork

- Foster financial culture engagement
- Leadership with ethical standards.

- Newly qualifed or post qualified experience within a Professional Accounting/Finance qualification such as CIMA, ACCA or ACA
