Summary

AMOS Specialist
- Marine Competitive salary plus benefits Hybrid based role
- Portsmouth PO1 3LT Fixed term contract 12 months with possibility to be extended Full time 37.5 hours per week
Here at Serco, we have an exciting opportunity for an AMOS Specialist to join our team based in Portsmouth. The purpose of this role is to manage systems whilst maintaining and developing the Serco Marine Services AMOS planned maintenance and purchasing systems, with specific responsibility for the DE&S contract implementations.
We offer this position as a hybrid-based role allowing remote working 2 days per week and welcome applications from candidates with AMOS Business Suite V8 and higher database systems development experience.


Main accountabilities:



- Under the direction of the line manager, proactively manage the contracts AMOS Business Suite planned maintenance and purchasing system applications.
- Facilitate and embed DE&S AMOS system upgrade package.
- Provide day to day systems maintenance.
- Co-operate with Management Systems Coordinator to develop and utilise reporting tools and KPI’s.
- Act as point of contact and provide technical support to other Marine Services functions.
- Provide end user training and direction to DE&S staff in AMOS databases, both for vessels and office-based installations.
- Provide point of contact for Spectec support contract.
- Develop and grow stores and stock control functions of AMOS system.
- Undertake site visits as may be required from time to time.
- Routinely document and report on workstream activities and system status.
- Undertake off site skill upgrade training as may be required.



What you’ll need to do the role:


- Core competency and familiarity of AMOS Business Suite V8 and higher database systems development.
- Solid Marine Engineering background
- Several years sea going experience in a senior rank.
- Substantial experience in similar role or as technical developer for Spectec.
- Experience of using MS Office software suite.
- Good communication skills, written and verbal.
- Involvement in database development projects.
- Flexible attitude.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
- Comfortable working as part of small team.
- Good coaching and mentoring skills.
- Independent and self-motivated.


Desirable:


- Hold a higher MCA Certificate of Competency.
