Summary


This post would be ideal for a motivated, enthusiastic candidate wanting to gain experience in tertiary level epilepsy care.

Trainees within the neurology training programme (specialist registrars in training) or those that have completed training and wishing to gain dedicated epilepsy training would be ideal candidates. The contract will be for 12 months.



The post holder will not be expected to participate in the on-call rota.

This post would be ideal for a motivated, enthusiastic candidate(s) wanting to gain experience in both general and sub-specialty Neurology in a regional neuroscience centre. The contract will be for 12 months.



Objectives of this placement includes:
1. Gaining training experience with secondary and tertiary level epilepsy care (inpatient and outpatients)
2. The development of new clinical pathways for the management of blackouts and seizures
3. Improving pathways for first seizure diagnosis and management
4. Training in home video telemetry (both EEG and seizure semiology)

The candidate will have the opportunity to gain experience with obstetric neurology patients and will be expected to attend the weekly academic and neuro-radiology meetings, and monthly valproate review clinic and complex epilepsy meeting.
