Summary
This post is based at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington, part of the West London Children’s Alliance (WLCA) and provides the general paediatric in-patient service plus many sub-specialities including allergy, nephrology, neurology, haematology, infectious diseases as well as surgical specialities (general paediatric surgery, orthopaedics, ophthalmology, ENT, and urology). There is support available from Westminster CAMHS. The patient acuity and complexity is unusually high and many children have severe underlying health problems or neurodevelopmental problems.
Grand Union and Great Western Wardsprovide in patient care for children and young people, including those undergoing Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) and neuro-rehabilitation post trauma as well as the usual broad spectrum of childhood conditions requiring admission.
