Description
We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Benefits Assessment Officer (PO1). In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating and assessing individuals' eligibility for various benefits programs and ensuring that accurate and timely information is provided to applicants.
As a Benefits Assessment Officer, you will play a crucial role in determining the financial support that individuals may receive, helping them navigate through the complex benefits system. This will involve conducting thorough assessments, reviewing documentation, and analyzing financial information to determine eligibility. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date records, communicating with applicants to obtain missing information, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure a smooth and efficient process.
To excel in this role, you must have excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills. You should have the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. Strong communication skills are also essential as you will be required to communicate complex information to clients in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities
Evaluate and assess individuals' eligibility for benefits programs based on established criteria
Conduct thorough assessments and reviews of applicants' documentation and financial information
Ensure accurate and timely provision of benefit information and advice to applicants
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of assessments and benefit decisions
Collaborate with colleagues to ensure efficient processing of benefit applications
Communicate with applicants to gather missing information and clarify any discrepancies
Stay up-to-date with changes in benefits legislation and regulations
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as social work or public administration
Proven experience in benefits assessment or a related field
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with complex information
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in using computer applications and databases to manage information
Hours Per Week: 36.00
Start Time: 09:00
End Time: 17:30
Pay Per Hour: £18.50
