Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen forRegistered Mental Health Band 5 Nursesto join the team on our 16 bedded mixed sex adult acute ward.

We are looking for an innovative, motivated and enthusiastic Registered Mental Health Nurse who has the passion, commitment and therapeutic skills to deliver compassionate, high-quality care to individuals who are experiencing a crisis in their mental and emotional health and wellbeing. Our client group is diverse and therefore gives the opportunity for you to expand your experience in delivering care to differing mental health needs.

This role is an integral part of a multidisciplinary team of health care professionals to ensure that the clinical, environmental and social needs of our service users are met. We put huge emphasis on working collaboratively with individuals to empower them to move through the care pathway toward recovery.

The post holder, in collaboration with the Team, will be responsible for the delivery of the highest professional standard of care, assessment, treatment and support of people within the Service.

This post is designed to be flexible within Osborne Ward.

The post holder would be expected to work across all of Mental Health Services should the need arise. Support and supervision for all staff is a fundamental part of the culture of the ward and individuals are actively encouraged to seek out learning opportunities.

Demonstrate a high level of clinical expertise and leadership in respect of all colleagues. To plan, implement and provide meaningful activity for patients within in-patient services and to provide patients with assessments, care plans and treatment plans as appropriate, and ensure that these are put into practice and evaluated.

Contribute to new service developments and actively take these forward as required. To be flexible and work with colleagues to promote the best outcomes for patients and the ability to make decisions and show sound, effective communication skills will be required.

You will be expected to work a mixture of early, late and night shifts.

We have also been working with other local NHS Trusts across our region to create a new organisation, bringing together all community, mental health and learning disability services from across Hampshire and Isle of Wight. Subject to approvals, the aim is for the new Trust - Hampshire and Isle of Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - to be formed by April 2024.

People employed in our community, mental health and learning disability services by the Isle of Wight NHS Trust on 30 April 2024, will transfer to the new organisation under Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) on 1 May 2024.

The Isle of Wight NHS Trust will continue to deliver both acute and ambulance services for the island population.
