Welcome Bonus: £1,000

Shift Pattern: 40 hours per week, 20 hours clinical and 20 hours supernumerary

You'll help us make health happen by:

  • Supporting key staff in ensuring that all care assessment tools are in place and are fully utilised
  • Acting as a resource for staff, educating and coaching them as required
  • Directing key staff in the assessment of the physical, mental and social needs of residents, ensuring the care they receive is appropriate to their needs
  • Ensuring all care is managed in line with management policies, quality systems and is compliant with statutory requirements
  • Maintaining and promoting relationships with General Practitioners and other healthcare professionals
  • Ensuring regular personal contact with residents, treating them as partners in the care planning process, monitoring their condition and acting as an advocate when necessary
  • Reviewing care plans/risk assessments and medication administration, ensuring there are robust processes in place
  • Liaising with other local agencies to mobilise resources to meet resident needs and to support them in securing additional support as required
  • Ensuring all records are updated and maintained in line with current regulations, keeping strict control of recording, ordering and the return of medication to the pharmacy
  • Conducting staff appraisals and identify training needs
  • Working alongside the Registered Manager to investigate concerns/complaints, conduct and review quality audits and other duties as required
  • Acting for the Registered Manager when required taking charge of the households in rotation with other staff



Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:

You hold a Nursing Qualification with an active NMC PIN is desirable but not essential. Previous experience leading a team and working with individuals with dementia would be advantageous. An excellent communicator with experience observing residents and recommending appropriate checks. You're sensitive to the needs of others with an ability to implement action plans and address needs. Leading by example, you'll work well as part of a team, sharing best practise to help deliver outstanding care to our residents.

Because we care for vulnerable people, we'll need you to complete a DBS check as part of the recruitment process. Bupa will cover the cost of this (£40).
