Summary

A Vacancy at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.

Manchester Royal Infirmary is expanding our Department of Medicine for Older People workforce. Part of this includes new Consultant Geriatrician posts with a special interest in Frailty, Community, Movement Disorders or Surgical Liaison. These posts are all 10PA's and job plans can be adjusted to the needs of potential applicants.

Over the last 3 years the department has transformed our front door frailty, community, outpatient and surgical liaison provision which we hope to be able to continue expanding.

At Manchester Royal Infirmary the department operates two weekend rota's for General Geriatrics ward support and Frailty SDEC. The expected commitment is 1 in 8, working 8am - 4pm. We currently do not participate in the General Medicine on call rota.

You will be part of the wider Inpatient Medical Specialties Clinical Service Unit at MRI which includes the specialties of Respiratory, Haematology, Department of Medicine for Older People, Palliative Care and the Department of Medicine.

We would be supportive and open to Geriatrician applicants with specialist knowledge and interest in one of the following specialties; Movement Disorders, Surgical Liaison, Acute Medicine, Acute Oncology and Frailty.

Committed to working with dignity and respect, you will have a broad-based expertise in Geriatric Medicine, General (Internal) Medicine and your relevant specialist interest. You will be joining a team of highly motivated Consultants in Geriatric Medicine and depending on the interest and experience of the successful candidate there will be the opportunity to be involved in other sub-speciality areas of interest.

Applications are welcomed for candidates interested in working flexibly or less than full time. Interested applicants are encouraged to make contact regarding this exciting opportunity and to discuss their preferred specialist area in advance of interviews
