Summary
University of Bristol Dental Hospital is a centre of excellence providing good quality patient care and staff development.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our dental nursing team at Bristol Dental Hospital. We have a part time position , available within our Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial department.
The successful candidates will be part of the dental nurse service, providing a high standard of care, demonstrating strong clinical dental nursing skills and motivation. The post holders will need to work as part of a team providing close support to clinical staff, and be a mentor to the trainee dental nurses whilst allocated to department.
Candidates must hold a recognised Dental Nurse Qualification and General Dental Council Registration.

Clinical – Patient Care:
• Monitor and maintain a high standard of cleanliness and infection control in line with current codes of practice and trust policy.
• Provide four handed dentistry throughout the patient’s treatment, anticipating the clinicians needs and any possible complications which may arise including assisting the management of medical and dental emergencies.
• To provide clinical support and advice for the dental team.
• To identify each patient’s medical, dental, and personal needs within a wide range of treatments and procedures before, during and after the patient is discharged from clinic.
• Advise triage and prioritise dental emergency patients to ensure they receive the most appropriate care in a timely way.
