The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is an ambitious organisation motivated to provide consistently high-quality services to our patients. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our ambitious organisation as a Healthcare Assistant.

This role is offered on a progression scheme where you will undertake the Care Certificate which approximately take 6 months to complete where your pay band will increase.

This role is for you if you are willing to work shift patterns, including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays on a rota. Hours are standardly ‘12 hour’ shift across most wards.

You will be responsible for delivering individual patient care and will be expected to support the team leaders and the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse. You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic, to help improve both the patient experience and the nursing care. You will be working in an environment that will be a challenge to your organisational skills and one that will enhance your knowledge of various specialties.

Applicants will work well under pressure and have a professional, friendly manner. They should be able to use their own judgment to resolve issues and have a sensitive approach to dealing with occasionally difficult situations. We will provide a supportive learning environment and encourage you with your personal and professional development.

This role requires you to have current right to work in the UK which enables you to undertake the role without need of sponsorship. • Caring and communication with kindness and compassion
• Personal Care including catheter care and Incontinence.
• Nutrition and Hydration support
• Pressure Area Care
• Collect specimens (routine bodily fluids only)
• Moving and handling
• Documentation including food & fluid charts and outcome sheets.
• Environmental maintenance
• Performing care in line with risk assessments and care plans
• Ensure all clinical rooms are stocked up with appropriate clinical forms and patient information sheets
• Assist with the preparation of medical notes to facilitate the running of clinics.
• Escort to other departments (except theatre)
• Instigate Emergency procedure
• Promote person centred values and provide support for patients wellbeing and fulfilment
