Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for a phlebotomist on our Young adult cardiac unit (E2). You will play an integral part of delivering high quality care to our patients. If you are self-motivated and able to manage your own work load while responding to urgent requests from both nursing and medical colleagues then we would like to hear from you.

E2 is a 17 bedded unit for young adult cardiac patients ranging from 16 years old upwards. We are the base for adults with congenital heart conditions (ACH) be they young or old. We often care for adults with learning disabilities therefore experience in LD is an advantage with acute care skills a basic requirement. We also care for the full range of cardiac patients including electrophysiology patients. Our team work closely with the ACH clinical nurse specialists and Consultants specialising in congenital heart conditions.

What you’ll do

A phlebotomist’s role is to provide a high-quality phlebotomy and cannulation service that offers the best possible standards of patient care to inpatients and any other area requiring venesection/cannulation services.

You will assist in the provision of individualised care, under the supervision of a qualified nurse and others in the health care professional team.

What we’re looking for

You will need to be self-motivated, dynamic, with a passion for taking blood samples while delivering high quality patient care.

You will have a keen eye for attention to detail and the ability to prioritise your own workload, as well as a keen learner that embraces change whilst maintaining high standards.
