About the Role

Base Location: Glasgow or Perth

Salary: £45,400 - £68,200 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager to join the Thermal Financial Control team based in Glasgow/Perth. Reporting directly into the Thermal Financial Controller, you will manage a team with responsibility for the accurate and timely execution of all aspects of general accounting, period end closing and statutory reporting activities for the Generation business for Thermal.

Your responsibilities will include:

-Managing and developing a team of finance professionals.

-Overseeing all aspects of the month end and the balance sheet and cashflow for Thermal Generation UK & ROI.

-Owning the year end and half year process including the preparation and audit of the statutory accounts and the preparation of the group disclosures for Thermal.

-Responsibility for compliance with the Group financial control policies.

- One of the key contacts for the Finance Transformation programme workstreams including system change and the Internal Controls Over Financial Reporting framework.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Qualified Accountant (ICAS, ACCA, ACA) with strong working knowledge of IFRS & FRS 101 and clear understanding of financial controls. Experience of, or ability to, demonstrate an interest in the energy industry.

- Strong team manager with demonstrable experience of leading and motivating teams through change.

- Be a superb communicator of financial information with a strong commercial acumen.

- Strong time-management and organizational skills to handle multiple deadlines/priorities without compromising attention to detail and deliverable. Drive continuous improvement and automation of key processes.

- Proactive and inquisitive with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering change.
