Summary


This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Paediatric ENT team at Addenbrookes!

You will be working alongside a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will have scope to improve your clinical practice and knowledge alongside utilising your already excellent communication and organisational skills. The paediatric ENT service is a fast-growing service with a highly renowned core group of specialist surgeons. The role covers multiple areas across CUH and will encompass inpatient work, outpatient clinics and regional work with a cohort of complex ENT children.

You will be working with a large Multi Disciplinary Team, Surgeons, Trainees, Clinic Nurses, HCAs and Administration staff.

There is a lot of collaborative work with the Long Term Ventilation team also.

You will require excellent clinical assessment skills and a knowledge of airway management including tracheostomies and naso-pharyngeal airways. You should have a good knowledge of and experience in caring for routine paediatric ENT procedures such as adenotonsillectomies.

You wil have experience of caring for a deteriorating child. Possession of an EPALS qualification is preferable or a willingness to gain this qualification.

Experience of teaching in both a formal and informal setting and for a wide range of audiences from patients to professional colleagues. Ideally you will have a teaching or mentorship qualification.

Experience of caring for children with complex health, communication and social care needs. An understanding of the pathway of discharging the complex child from hospital.

You will be able to communicate confidently and effectively with professionals in other secondary and tertiary care centres and should be willing to share support and advice with other teams. This includes maintaining established links as well as forging new contacts for the mutual benefit of patients and clinicians.
