How you will make Plan Zero happen

In this dynamic and demanding position, you will play a key role in the design, integration and Optimisation of Building Management Systems (BMS).

You will directly contribute to the Mitie Energy Business goal of achieving “net zero” for our clients through the creation and optimisation of controller strategies within BMS outstations, whilst making further recommendations on who clients can improve the operation of their HVAC plant.

This energy focused role compliments our parallel services of BMS upgrades and Energy Performance Contracts which aim to drive savings and improve efficiency for our clients.

In addition to the optimising of existing BMS installations, there will be a need to design controller strategies for new project works which will extend to the integration of different systems.







What will you do day to day?

-Be responsible for information gathering on plant and site requirements to ensure the software strategy are optimised effectively

-Ensure a robust and effective relationship exists with other members of the delivery team which provides the necessary support to ensure a seamless and professional project /design delivery.

-Deliver the design and configuration of controller strategies primarily for Trend Building Managment Systems

-Provide feedback on potential opportunities to enhance the control systems within a clients building and utilise this information to help generate further investment in the BMS.

-Extend competencies to allow the engineering of Head End graphics for the BMS Supervisor station, typically IQVision and Niagara based solutions.

-Create innovative controller strategies that can be easily understood and adopted by the commissioning teams.

-Use own initiative to proactively adopt project tasks to support in the delivery of new projects alongside the project managers and project delivery teams.

-Deliver works within the allocated time and take an active role in suggesting how to improve the system design

-Contribute to the compilation of documentation / Des Ops / Manuals to support the design where required.

-Providing technical support and Remote Triage of issues on old and new innovative solutions that showcase new technologies and integration opportunities.

-On site commissioning of the Graphics Head End and configuration of all alarm and user functionality to ensure the Head End Supervisor performs and delivers to the scope of the project.

-Assist in the system solution design which will include identifying the most suitable integration solution architect for projects that require higher levels of integration.

-Seek opportunities to gain greater experience of Tridium, Trend and Distech through small projects and engineering and by completing the available training courses to become an expert in these systems.





Who will you work with?



The BMS and Energy Operation consists of over 60 field and remote based Control Engineers, Project Managers and Energy Managers. You will be an integral part of this team, whilst on daily basis working remotely from home to deliver the design and optimisation requirements.



You will liaise closely with end clients and members of the Energy / Projects team who will be the main providers of your workload and activities.





Experience & Skills

-Educated to degree level or equivalent (desirable)

-Proven knowledge of HVAC and BMS.

-Be equal to the Trend Expert competency level and have the ability to confidently design energy biased software.

-Be confident in the use of the Trend SET tool and IQVision

-Effective in anticipating and understanding customer expectations and ensure customer requirements are met and expectations appropriately managed. Able to build partner relationships with customers and suppliers focusing on solving any problems.

-The ability to manage priorities, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines across multiple projects

-Results driven and have a proactive approach with notable communication and negotiation skills

-Excellent organisational, administrative and problem-solving skills

-Proactive and motivated to deliver exceptional customer service, offering flexibility to manage team commitments and offering resource solutions.
