Summary


Hertfordshire Community Trust are excited to offer a full time Rehabilitation Assistant post within the In-patient Therapy Team at Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital.

The successful candidate will work within a skilled multi disciplinary team, and be an integral part of this in-patient service using a goal orientated approach. Support and regular supervision will be provided to enable the candidate to develop their rehabilitation therapy skills within the team and there will be opportunities for ongoing learning and development.

QVM is a 21 bedded unit that provides rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of conditions such as post fall, stroke, prolonged hospital stay, orthopaedic surgery prior to discharge into the community.

In addition to the basic salary, this post attracts a High Cost Area Supplement of 5% of basic salary subject to a minimum payment of £1,192 and a maximum payment of £2,011 per annum (pro rata where applicable).
• To work with the therapy staff to provide an integrated service to patients on the Bed Based Rehabilitation Unit
• To assist the qualified therapists in the assessment and treatment of patient
• To maintain stock and order equipment and supplies as necessary within the department
• To provide administrative support as necessary
• To assist the qualified therapists in the delivery of the therapy service on the bed based rehabilitation uni
• To carry out interventions and tasks as delegated by the qualified therapist
• To report back to qualified staff on patient progress and report when reassessment is require
• Prescribe, issue and adjust walking aids as directed by the Physiotherapists (following appropriate training) and discuss provision if concerned about the suitability of equipmen
