Summary

SEN Teacher required ASAP in Kirkham

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Educational Needs Teacher to join a fantastic team at an SEN school in Kirkham. As a Special Educational Needs Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored education and support to students with SEN, ensuring they receive the necessary tools and strategies to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
- Location: Kirkham
- Hours: 8.30am-3.30pm Monday-Friday
- Rate: Negotiable depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students with SEN.
- Create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for each student, setting clear and achievable targets aligned with their abilities and educational goals.
- Utilise a range of teaching strategies and resources, including visual aids, sensory tools, and technology, to facilitate learning and maximise student engagement.
- Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and behaviour specialists, to address the holistic needs of students.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel valued, respected, and empowered to reach their full potential.
- Implement effective behaviour management techniques and interventions to promote positive behaviour and social skills development.

Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or relevant field (required)
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent certification
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school setting
- Strong understanding of SEN characteristics, behaviours, and learning styles, as well as evidence-based teaching strategies and interventions
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills
