Summary

Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale NHS Talking Therapies is a highly successful multi-disciplinary site which is looking for a new Band 7 CBT Therapist. We are a high-performing and innovative Primary Care psychological therapies site for one of the UK’s most diverse towns. Our base is 12 miles north-east of central Manchester, accessible in 15 minutes by public transport.

The service comprises 3 partners. Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust provides Step 3/3.5 NICE-recommended psychological therapies for common mental health problems. Big Life Group provides Gateway interventions, Step 2 interventions, Guided Self-Help and Counselling. Getting Help gives practical interventions around housing, finance, health, wellbeing and sexuality.

Our service has been identified as one of the top-performing in the country at times over the last 6 years, and regularly achieves KPIs in excess of national averages while serving a diverse population. We know that our teams and therapists add considerable value through what they do. We currently provide the majority of interventions online or via the telephone.

The post holder will provide the NICE-recommended models of cognitive-behavioural therapy for depression and the anxiety disorders in the Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale area. They will work closely with colleagues, Senior CBT therapist, and Step 3/3.5 Service Manager in delivering these.

Our vision is for a happier and more hopeful life for everyone in our communities and our staff work hard to deliver the very best care for the people who use our services. We’re really proud of our #PennineCarePeople and do everything we can to make sure we’re a great place to work.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessment and formulation of patient’s difficulties before delivering trials of treatment and review in accordance with NICE guidelines for the common mental health disorders. They will provide effective treatment planning and delivery as per the most recent version of the IAPT manual, and Trust-wide Healthy Minds Ops policy.

The postholder will manage an independent caseload, book to achieve the required number of weekly contacts, and make good use of monthly line management/fortnightly clinical supervision. They will provide weekly case consultations for Step 2 clinicians within HMR Talking Therapies on cases where there are doubts/uncertainties around suitability for brief CBT in this setting.
