As the Finance Planning and Reporting Analyst Lead, you will play a key role in financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities. You will collaborate closely with finance and business teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, provide insightful analysis, and support strategic decision-making.

Duties:

- Assist in the preparation of the annual statutory report and accounts for the National Park, collaborating with colleagues across the business and External Audit as needed.
- Support the initial preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports, presenting results to managers, the Executive, the Board, and Board Committees, including commentary and variance analysis.
- Assist in the completion and submission of monthly budget monitoring reports to the Scottish Government.
- Aid in the preparation of Annual Budget and Reforecast exercises.
- Act as a business partner with budget holders under the direction of the Finance Manager, including preparation, profiling, and monitoring of budgets.
- Provide financial advice, guidance, and support to the organization to meet business needs.
- Assist with documenting policies, procedures, and controls.
- Support projects to automate and streamline finance operations and reporting processes.
- Undertake any other duties appropriate to the grade as required.

Essential Skills/Qualifications:

- Working knowledge of preparing financial reports and inputs (including those required for IFRA16) for the annual report and accounts.
- Experience in preparing management accounts, budgets, and forecasts.
- Familiarity with financial systems, including nominal ledger coding structures.
- Hands-on experience with monthly and annual accounting cycles and supporting processes, such as Trial Balance, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in journal preparation, including pre-payments and accruals.
- Experience in maintaining and reporting on a fixed asset register.
- Ability to extract and manipulate data from finance systems using advanced Excel skills.
- Capability to translate financial information for use by non-finance colleagues.
- Self-starter, collaborative, and flexible worker with excellent interpersonal and report-writing skills.
- Ability to work under pressure to tight externally set deadlines.
- Driven with strong analytical skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential improvements.
- Part Qualified Accountant with significant hands-on experience.
- Flexible approach to working.
