Summary

The primary role of the Site Agent is to oversee the management of construction sites, ensuring the timely and successful delivery of projects while upholding standards of health and safety, quality, environmental impact, and cost control.

Responsibilities include:

Site Management:

• Overseeing the successful delivery of various projects in civil and water sectors.
• Ensuring work meets specified quality standards and is completed without defects.
• Leading a team of Sub Agents, Engineers, and Forepeople to ensure safe project delivery.
• Developing and implementing Project Plans, RAMS, ITP, and Waste Management Plans as required.
• Maximizing the commercial performance of contracts.
• Managing project construction programs and procurement schedules.

Client Interface:

• Acting as a representative of the business to customers, public, and official bodies.
• Ensuring products meet customer requirements and satisfaction.

Cost Control:

• Managing the project cost plan.
• Maximizing project value.
• Maintaining detailed site records.
• Driving cost efficiency and identifying value engineering opportunities.

Reporting:

• Producing accurate monthly reports for clients and internal stakeholders.
• Chairing weekly site meetings.

Key Measures & Targets:

• Meeting reporting deadlines.
• Adhering to Business Unit Objectives.
• Meeting 3 Pillar KPI measures.

Key Relationships:

• Customers and stakeholders.
• Subcontractors and suppliers.
• Site teams and support departments.

Person Specification: The ideal candidate will have:

Essential:

• Significant experience in Civil Engineering and as a Site Agent.
• Proficiency in contract conditions, CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management, and cost control.
• Knowledge of specifications and testing regimes relevant to civil engineering.
• Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
• CSCS, IOSH Managing Safely or SMSTS, Temporary Works Coordinator, Confined Space Training certifications.
• Excellent communication, people, and team management skills.
• Ability to challenge designs and problem-solve effectively.
• Demonstrated leadership qualities aligned with Company values.

Desirable:

• CEng MICE or equivalent certification.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Project software, JCT, and NEC forms of contract.
