Summary
Senior Quantity Surveyor
Based: Leighton Buzzard office; Office based with travel around the local sites throughout Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. Working 08:30 – 17:00 Monday – Friday

Within our Social Housing Planned refurbishment works programs and some projects, such as Kitchen, Bathroom, Window and Doors and Roofing refits you will work both from home/office and on site, collaborating with your team in an environment that is inclusive and fair for everyone.
Leading your team of four commercially focused colleagues to ensure we obtain and evaluate information to guarantee a realistic cost for the supply of works, goods, materials, and services for designated Refurbishment Projects. Whilst liaising with Contractors, Suppliers and Clients to ensure information, costs, profitability and value meet the requirements of designated project/contracts.

An outline of your responsibility as a Senior Quantity Surveyor
Managing the monthly CVR Process for your region
Lead and manage the performance of a well established team of colleagues which include, a QS/AQS/TQS & Commercial Admin
Prepare and monitor cash flow forecast for designated projects.
Ensure all invoices submitted accurately and for certified value to ensure payments are received on time.
Support your team to value and authorise payments to sub-contractors within the region
Liaise with Contract Managers to establish the project specification and requirements.
Attend and contribute to meetings with work colleagues and or Clients/Customers when necessary, building relationships and demonstrating excellent communication skills.
Assist in the preparation, processing and selection of estimates, bids, and tenders to demanding timescales.
Support the team with monitoring the contract progress, assess, and report any changes that may affect project costs and or time scale.
Assist in the control of contract budgets.
Assist in the development of the procurement programme.
About You
You will have experience of working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the Construction industry, it’s a distinct advantage if you have an understanding of the Social Housing sector, which will give you the knowledge to hit the ground running and contribute effectively to the team. Applicants will ideally have experience of managing a small team of QS’s and their workload while also managing your own projects, however one of our values is Nurture, we are open to applications from ambition and driven Quantity Surveyor that is highly experienced in their role but requires leadership and management develop, we will commit to providing you the support to become a successful Senior Quantity Surveyor. Applicants will have strong commercial acumen, excellent attention to detail and written and verbal communication skills. You will be an expert with IT with proficient MS office skills. You also must hold a Full UK Driving Licence as travel is a must with this role.
