About the role:
Activate Learning are now looking for an Online Learning Designer who is both creative and technically adept to develop and support the ongoing learning technology systems of the Group to enhance our teaching, learning and assessment.
In this role, you will be responsible for working with our Digital Education Advisors and Group Digital Learning Advisors to interpret instructional design planning and build this directly onto our virtual learning environment (VLE). This will mean that you work with Digital Content Developers to design online learning assets. This role will also include supporting the delivery and maintenance of e-learning programmes via Virtual Learning Environments. You will provide a leading role in the development of information technology and its applications to teaching and professional development, creating and editing online learning content as required.
You will ensure quality and standards of service provide business continuity in meeting the needs of the Group and support the day-to-day operations of the college learning environments (Libraries), providing support to staff and students as required to ensure a high level of customer service at all times.
What do you need to be successful in this role?
We are looking for candidates with experience in translating a curriculum programme into an exceptional online learning experience, therefore a high degree of IT literacy and experience in developing courses within and managing a Virtual Learning Environment is essential.
With knowledge of developments in multimedia and learning technologies, you will have the ability to build and develop new resources and ways of working to improve our service and give a high quality experience for our students and staff.
This is a permanent, full time role with the potential and will be based in our Reading college campus, with opportunities of working from home and may require travel to other sites.
