Summary


A fantastic opportunity has arisen in the uveitis team in Outpatients department at Bristol Eye Hospital.

Are you a keen Band 5 working in Ophthalmic care? Do you want to progress into this speciality? Are you a quick thinking problem solver? Then come and join our specialist team. Here we take great pride in providing a safe, supportive service to our patients. Our service extends mainly to the population of South West England and Wales.

This post is offered at Band 5 level for applicants or Band 6 if all of the necessary competencies have been completed, as a fixed term contract to cover Maternity leave for 14 months.

The Bristol Eye Hospital's Ocular inflammatory service is a small friendly team of nurses working as one unit. and supporting adults and children.

Informal visits are encouraged.
• To be able to prepare notes for clinics
• To be able to monitor answer phone messages and assess and resolve patients needs if possible
• To be able to chase blood reports and work independently with the help of senior staff.
• To be able to implement tests for patients prior to medical staff examination
• To be able to perform venepuncture and cannulation
• Occasionally assist doctors with medical procedures
• To provide support and advice to patients regarding medication
