Candidates interested in the Enforcement Assistant role should demonstrate practical experience of working in the Planning system and show a strong desire to develop this experience, knowledge and understanding within the field of planning enforcement. Training, mentoring and support will be provided to support the successful candidate in fulfilling their role

Applicants should be confident and self-motivated professionals with excellent written and verbal communications skills.

As part of the wider Development Management team, this role will play an important role in investigating and resolving cases of alleged breaches of planning control. This will involve making site visits, undertaking site surveillance, liaising with the Senior Enforcement Officer and undertaking other key tasks as directed by the senior officer or Development Management Manager. You will support in the preparation of reports, documents and evidence in connection with cases for Planning Committee, appeals and legal proceedings.
